I support programs across the Philanthropy team that build Internet connectivity and digital literacy skills, equip people to learn and govern the Internet, and support Internet Society’s global chapters with their local needs.
Prior to joining the Foundation, I spent 5 years at the U.S. Department of State spearheading grantmaking initiatives, most recently as a Team Lead in the Office of Global Programs at the Bureau of Human Rights, Democracy and Labor. Additionally, I spent almost a decade managing grants at a variety of global democracy, governance, and rule of law focused INGOs. In every role, I supported human rights defenders to push back against regressive expression laws, establish stronger digital security infrastructure, and champion access to information for all citizens.
As a half-generation immigrant, my values stand firm on ensuring basic human rights and dignity for all. I believe the best way to experience a culture is through their cuisine, which is why my favorite way to unwind is by frequenting immigrant-owned restaurants. Or by binge-watching the latest British crime drama on TV.
I hold a Master’s degree from American University and a Bachelor’s from the University of Texas at Austin. I speak Hindi and Urdu fluently and am conversational in Spanish. I am based in the United States.
