João Paulo de Vasconcelos Aguiar
I’m a communications expert specializing in working with policy-driven projects and human-impact stories. At the Internet Society Foundation, I help tell the stories of the people who are using the Internet to improve their lives and the world around them.
Before joining the Internet Society, I worked with campaigns aimed at improving the Brazilian public service and advocating for data-driven policymaking. I also worked as a consultant, developing communications strategies for political campaigns and tech startups.
With a background as a journalist and an M.A. in International Affairs, my research focused on community networks and transnational civil society organizations. I also hold an M.A. in Media, Politics, and Society.
Having worked with online communications and taken advantage of the Internet to learn and improve for most of my life, I believe the Internet should be accessible to everyone. I work to make sure it is.
When I’m not doing that, I will be relaxing with my wife and cats, playing music or video games. I’m based in Brazil.
