The Future of the Internet: innovative ideas from our Research Grantee Partners

We are thrilled to announce the launch of The Future of the Internet Interview Series. This engaging space offers a window into the minds of our research grant partners, providing insights into the groundbreaking ideas and projects that are helping to shape the future of the Internet.

Introducing “The Future of the Internet” Interview Series

We will release in-depth interviews with our research grantee partners every month on our YouTube channel.

These interviews allow everyone to connect with the minds behind the research, gaining insights into their projects and the potential impact on our digital future. We believe in inspiring collaboration, sparking conversations, and fostering innovation within the wider community.

First up is Francis Saa-Dittoh, who talks about his research on how advanced AI methods can be used to make the Internet more inclusive for communities in low-resource environments in the Global South.

    ISOC Foundation’s Research Grant Program:

The Internet Society Foundation supports innovative research addressing critical challenges in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

Our program seeks to promote novel methodologies that generate solutions to Internet-related challenges. It also aims to identify and support a diverse, collaborative group of researchers and research institutions from around the globe. In addition, it facilitates access to intersectional research that can be applied to decision-making in government and industry.

    Our Thematic Areas of Focus:

    1. Greening the Internet: Exploring the environmental impact and sustainability of the Internet.
    1. The Internet Economy: Analyzing the Internet’s transformative power on economic landscapes.
    1. A Trustworthy Internet: Investigating the Internet’s resilience, reliability, and security.
    1. Decolonizing the Internet: Exploring practices for creating an inclusive and culturally sensitive Internet.

We can’t wait to take you on this journey of exploration into the minds and projects at the forefront of shaping a sustainable, economically equitable, trustworthy, and inclusive digital future.
