OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
This project’s objective is to increase educational opportunities for marginalized children in Bangladesh by promoting the use of mobile phones and the Internet for learning. The project focuses on building the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviors among children, teachers, and parents to facilitate the effective use of digital resources. Additionally, it developed a library of high-quality animated and live-action educational content that aligns with the national curriculum.
WHY IS THIS PROJECT IMPORTANT?
Despite the increasing mobile Internet access in Bangladesh, only a small percentage of students utilize it effectively for learning due to a lack of digital literacy and relevant content. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted significant gaps in online learning access, particularly among marginalized students, with only 1% using the Internet for education. This project addresses those barriers by creating an ecosystem of trained teachers, engaged parents, and digitally literate children to leverage the potential of the internet for educational equity and learning recovery.
