    OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

The project aims to support teachers and learners of the THIES Academy to take advantage of the Internet and information and communication technologies to acquire and apply new knowledge in the context of techno-pedagogy and employability. This objective is achieved through (1) the installation of SENUM clubs for using the Internet for learning and (2) supporting teachers to better use information and communication technologies in their teaching/learning activities.

    WHY IS THIS PROJECT IMPORTANT?

Students primarily use the Internet to access social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and LinkedIn for entertainment purposes. In this regard, parents and teachers often express concern about the uses of digital social networks. Furthermore, the use of computers and the Internet at school is low.

The project focuses on digital education and aims to provide teachers and students with reinforcement courses on the proper use of the Internet, coding and mathematics software. The project raises awareness about the opportunities of digital technology, how to properly use ICT, and how to use digital technology to improve teaching-learning activities. The impact of the project reaches 750 people (250 teachers and school heads) and 500 students between 12 and 22 years old.

    The Internet is for Everyone
