    OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

The project goal is to provide the necessary support for the deployment, expansion, and/or improvement of the community networks’ infrastructure in the Marrecas, Quixaba, and Barra do Açu communities and in the Baixada Campista complex, ensuring that these communities can have stable, fast, and accessible Internet connections, which contributes to the socio-economic development and digital inclusion of these areas.

For the Marrecas and Quixaba communities, which already have longer-established networks, the project aims to expand the local network and ensure higher-quality radio links. This will increase the traffic capacity on the internal network and the total capacity of directional links, as well as create a redundancy route for situations where a link fails. For the community of Barra do Açu, the project aims to ensure quality equipment for backhaul and expansion of the local network.

    WHY IS THIS PROJECT IMPORTANT?

The rural communities of Marrecas, Quixaba, and Barra do Açu face socio-economic challenges regarding precarious access to basic services such as education, health, public transportation, sanitation, and electricity, as well as lack of adequate infrastructure and limited digital inclusion. These issues limit opportunities for local and sustainable development in these communities.

The project offers greater assurance of sustainability and quality of services for users. With this, the project aims to promote the socio-economic development of these communities. This integrated approach is adapted to the specific needs of each community and will allow for the creation of resilient, self-sufficient community networks capable of positively transforming the lives of their members.
