OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The primary objective of this activity is to empower marginalized and rural communities with knowledge about the significance of encryption. This initiative includes a one-day, in-person practical training workshop for community members who already utilize the Internet for essential services such as communication and banking. The goal is to equip these vulnerable users with the skills and awareness necessary to safeguard their digital communications and data.
WHY IS THIS PROJECT IMPORTANT?
This project is essential because it raises awareness of encryption among marginalized communities, helping them understand how technologies like WhatsApp encryption protect privacy and data integrity. It provides educational opportunities that enhance participants’ understanding of encryption’s role in safeguarding digital information. Additionally, the initiative promotes community engagement and cultivates a more informed society, with many participants joining the Internet Society to continue their learning and advocacy.
