    OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

The project aims to establish a replicable model for community-led, sustainable Internet provision that enhances community resilience during disasters in Indonesia. This will be achieved by:

    1) Deploying resilient Internet infrastructure; 2) Engaging local stakeholders: Fostering collaboration and ownership among local communities, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and disaster response groups to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project; 3) Empowering communities: through training on effective use, maintenance, and repair of the internet infrastructure, enabling them to take ownership of their disaster preparedness and response efforts and; 4) Developing a replicable model to create a transferable model for other disaster-prone regions worldwide.

    WHY IS THIS PROJECT IMPORTANT?

The project is not just about providing Internet access; it is about empowering communities, strengthening resilience, and saving lives in the face of disasters. By establishing a replicable model and promoting sustainable solutions, this project can make a significant contribution to global disaster risk reduction efforts. This project provides communities with access to timely and critical information during disasters, enabling them to make informed decisions, coordinate response efforts, and minimize risks. It also empowers communities to become more self-reliant in disaster management. Furthermore, the project addresses the digital divide by ensuring that communities have access to essential Internet services.
